Royal vacation planning package

Recommended Posts

So, back before Christmas, my parents were talking about maybe taking their first cruise, with us. Mom was onboard, but Dad was still waiting to be convinced.

So I requested that they be mailed the free RCI "vacation planning package" from the website, and requested one for us as well. It comes with a DVD. I've gotten similar from Disney, and it helps to get info on the ships and experience more easily than on the website (especially for my parents, who aren't of the internet generation).

We never did get them, but did end up booking a cruise anyway.

Mom called yesterday and she just got the vacation planning package ordered almost 5 months ago  Ours was in the mail, too.

Um, good thing we weren't actually relying on that to decide who to sail with. Seriously, that's kind of outrageous.

Oh, and the video quality is very poor. Lots of SD from the 1980s and early 1990s, in painful contrast to recent, high-quality HD images. Overall, just not a great marketing tool, Disney has a great DVD that really sells the experience. I'm disappointed by the video, but honestly pretty shocked that we requested this just before "wave season" and it has taken so long to get here.
