Car rental in Corfu

I'm going to rent a car in Corfu. Just in the initial planning stages now. Looking for some advice from experienced CC cruisers that have chose this option to see the island.

Any do's and don'ts would greatly be appreciated. Also any recommentation on a honest rental agency would help.

Here's one tip if you are driving in Corfu. Watch for the narrow one way roads that are regulated with a red/green light. We hired a taxi for a half day tour. Along the way we stopped at the bottom of a narrow one lane road. The taxi driver explained that it was one lane and we had to wait until the red light at the bottom turned green. As we waited, we saw a tourist drive right past the line of waiting cars and precede up the hill. Our driver laughed and in about 5 minutes we saw the tourist backing down the hill. So just watch for those red lights and one lane streets.
