Car rental in Messina (Sicily) on Sunday

Hello!

 

During our cruise in June, we spend a Sunday in Messina, Sicily. We'd like to rent a car for traveling independently instead of joining a planned tour. Unfortunately, our previous research has shown that all car rental stations are closed on Sundays. We found no car rental station that offers a pick-up and drop-off service outside the opening times. We tried all the major car rental companies and car brokers and car portals and our TA in Germany, unfortunately in vain. :mad:

Does anyone have an idea or a tip how we can rent a car?

Unluckily for you they are all closed on Sundays but you don't need a car for Messina and you can just walk into town. The centre is very near to the port.

I don't want the car for a visit of Messina, I want to drive to the Ätna in the morning and to Taormina in the afternoon.

 

But I think I have to book an excursion, because there is no chance to get a car on sunday. :mad:
