Venice - Luggage Limits on Transfers?

We are sailing out of Venice this Fall and booked a two-night pre-cruise plus transfers from the airport to the hotel and then hotel to ship. When we got info on the transfers, it indicated that there is a limit of one piece of luggage per person. We normally take two pieces of luggage per person (not including carry-ons). We contacted our travel agent and were told not to be concerned about it. Easy for her to say! I assume that the transfer is via private taxi (it is booked through Travel Bound). Is there a limit on the luggage we can take? And, what happens if we show up with two pieces of luggage per person plus one carry-on per person?

 

This is our first TA cruise. We're sailing on the Nieuw Amsterdam - we've travelled on HAL on over 40 cruises but our first on this ship.
