Spirit-Cabo San Lucas

I see Spirit has a few trips with two days in CSL. My question is, does it leave in the evening and come back into the bay or does it stay at anchor the whole time? Thanks in advance.

My understanding is that it leaves the harbor for the night and comes back again in the morning. If I'm wrong, I am sure there will be plenty of folks here to correct me.

It does leave and sail in a slow circle all night so that the casinos and gift shops can be re-opened, not to mention, they have to pay while they are parked.

 

If you want to spend the night in Cabo, you can, you just have to let guest services know in advance.

You have to be back aboard the afternoon of the first day...........ship then goes back out to International waters to open Casino and shops ........then returns in the morning

The problem with staying ashore in Cabo is if the ship cannot anchor the second day. The undercurrents can be strong. Have a backup plan, JIC.

 

That being said our next cruise does have a built in back up plan. We are going to Cabox2 and La Paz, a short bus ride away!:)

Sadie is right, there is the chance of undercurrents and the ship cannot drop anchor the next day, but it is rare. You can fly back to San Diego for about $250 on Alaska Airlines.

$144 pesos is approx $12.50, pretty cheap.

 

I was on a HAL ship once that had to wait it out before it could anchor. I think it was about an hour late. That was in December. I was in Cabo this past Feb off the ship and the winds were really whipping, to the point they closed the upper decks as soon as we turned to leave Cabo, but we still anchored on time.

You do have a point, they do not run night tender operations, but we all know there is also a financial incentive for CCL involved.

We were there in March. Loved it. We like the more mellow ports and the mellow places in the 'crazy' ports. In November we will be taking the bus in and checking out the other parts of town. In March we scoped out clean free bathrooms and several paleta places.
