Cruising89143 Posted March 20, 2005 #3 Share Posted March 20, 2005 One of my favorite ships. She is in great shape. I have been on the Fantasy four times now. I have some photos in my link below.
hill6 Posted March 20, 2005 #4 Share Posted March 20, 2005 http://community.webshots.com/user/hill6 Is my link to our photos from this past July. She is an absolutely gorgeous ship. One big hint I can give is that everyone lines up outside the dining room waiting for them to open the doors. To avoid the crowd arrive a few minutes later and avoid that deck section at dinner time. Other than that enjoy, enjoy enjoy. Oh the chairs right outside the casino are lovely to grab a book and sit down and watch the ocean go by from. Here is the link to our review and list of shore excursions. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=52486&highlight=fantasy+review http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=55143&highlight=fantasy+shore+tours I will be happy to answer any questions you may have remaining after reading these. I am a little long winded in the rview so I covered alot.
mattmdv Posted March 21, 2005 #5 Share Posted March 21, 2005 The Fantasy was our 1st & 2nd cruise(s), which, got us hooked on cruising!!! Now booked on the Inspiration for a 5 day. Advise for your Fantasy cruise: 1. Read your "Carnival Caper's" daily, and hi-light the things you don't won't to mess. Get a extra copy from the Information Desk for your Scrap Book back home. 2. Get involved with as many things as you can, remember "What happens on a cruise ship, stays on the cruise ship", unless you tell on yourself. LOL 3. Say "HI!!" to everyone on board, passengers and crew alike. 4. Take the Galley Tour, (if still available), it's amazing back there in the kitchen. 5. Bottom line, HAVE A GREAT AND WONDERFUL TIME!!! 4DisneyFans Posted March 21, 2005 #7 Share Posted March 21, 2005 My husband won a cruise thru work, we leave next week. I haven't really looked too much into the whole cruise thing before now because I just didn't even know where to start. The TA that handled the prize for us didn't really seem interested in giving me any info. We did get a pamphlet of docs a few weeks ago, so I guess that's good. I was just looking at Carnival's site, and are there really 2 TWIN beds in the room? And how do I know where our room is? We are driving to Port Canaveral and will be parking our car there. Anything I need to know about that? I haven't looked into shore excursions because I'll just just as happy sitting on the beach. Any other tips or advice you could share would be greatly appreciated! Look at your travel documents and see if a cabin number is listed. It may say TBA or something like that which means you will find out once you arrive at the pier. Do you have gray luggage tags? When you pull into the parking lot there will be porters to take your luggage. He will have a manifest and can tell you your room number. He will also give you color coded tags to write your name and room number on to place with your luggage. Once your luggage it taken, park your car. The price was $10.00 a day paid at the time of parking.

Our luggage tags are red, white, and blue. 2 more questions, the sign and sail....can we just give cash as our deposit instead of using a credit card? And dinner, we're on a 3 night, is there a formal night? And what if we don't want to dress up? Thanks again!

There is one formal night, It's friday night. Fantasy was my first cruise in 11-04. We are cruising on her again in April. We had a blast the first time and I know we will this time as well. I only wish it was longer. LOL.
Heidi101 Posted March 21, 2005 #11 Share Posted March 21, 2005 And dinner, we're on a 3 night, is there a formal night? And what if we don't want to dress up?Thanks again! Formal night was the second night. There were very few people dressed up. I saw no tuxes and minimal suits for the guys. I'm not sure if they didn't dress up since we were docked in Nassau overnight. Everyone at our table had a great time despite what people were wearing.
KandiceA Posted March 21, 2005 #12 Share Posted March 21, 2005 we sailed Fantasy 3/13- 3/17/05 we had a 4 night cruise- and we saw very few people dressed up too- most just had a shirt and tie and dockers on for the guys and a dress like you would wear to church for the women. the fantasy was our first cruise and we're hooked now too- if we hadn't had already planned our 2006 trip, we'd be cruising again... so now I have to wait till 2007- Destination Alaska! feel free if you have any specific questions! archibaldk@earthlink.net
