Air fare news for Oct. 1 Istanbul cruisers-Greece and Turkey Cruise

I found very good fares from Washington Dulles to Istanbul, nonstop, on an airline that allows 2 free bags per passenger. This is one of the top-rated lines in Europe, and their fares are lower than other airlines charge for 1-stop. Similar fares are available from JFK. I don't know if I'm allowed to mention the airline here, but you can look them up on any of the airline fare sites.

What is wrong with Turkish Airlines? We are flying them from London to Istanbul.

We flew Turkish Airlines within Europe. It was un eventful.

I did due diligence before booking with Turkish and found that their recent safety record and general passenger reviews were more than satisfactory. Let's face it, air travel is stressful and seldom a great pleasure. But comparing airlines for their comfort and service is as good as the average traveler can do. For example, Skytrax, which claims to be "the world's largest airline review site" lists Turkish as one of "The World's Official 4-Star Airlines™, of which there are only 32 altogether. JetBlue is the only US airline on their list, but British, Swiss, Japan, and Lufthansa made the grade. I've never flown Turkish before but think that this rating is quite promising.

We flew Turkish Airlines from JFK to Istanbul and return in May of 2008 and had a very nice and comfortable flight. No problems then, and we will be flying them from Istanbul to Munich ( Lufthansa code-share) this fall.
