Renaissance Newark Hotel to NY

We are staying at this hotel for one night pre-cruise. How would we get to NY from there and how much would it cost? We are staying at the Westin,Jersey City for two nights post cruise. Westin has recommended Travel Car to take from pier to hotel which offers a discount rate if staying at their hotel. Does anyone know about this car or taxi service?

I'm assuming you're doing this with luggage. Car service is the easiest option - check Black Executive. If you can manage your luggage you can take a cab to Newark Penn Station (about $25), train to NY Penn Station ($5/pp) and a cab to the pier ($10).

Don't know anything about Travel Car - get a quote from them and post back to see if it is reasonable. If the Westin is recommending them, it could be a good deal but you also could be paying too much even with the "discount". Be sure the quote identifies the basic charge and the tolls - tip would be extra.

The Westin is a lot closer to the Manhattan pier than the Renaissance, so I would expect you would pay more to go from Newark to the pier than from the pier to Jersey City.
