Window Suite Upgrade?

Do you think the smell could have been from the cigar bar, which shown on the Princess site map is just down the hall? I have really worried about this location - as I detest the smell and it gives me an asthmatic reaction. I can't even walk past the casino area and not wheeze. I have heard there are doors leading to the window suite area, sorta like that area has its own corridor, and I am hoping the doors are kept shut.

We also had a strong stale cigarette smell in our Window Suite on the Caribbean Princess in June (the only negative about this fabulous room), but it wasn't from the Cigar Bar. First of all, there wasn't any smell in the private hallway, just in our room. Secondly, the doors from our private hallway out to the public area were closed all the time. Finally, our room was F311, which is the next-to-the-last room furthest from the Cigar Bar. So, I think the stink was just from a previous passenger who smoked in our room! It could have happened in any room, so I don't think it reflects on the Window Suites.

In my opinion, the balcony is the way to go. I value a balcony and the ocean experience over a couple of free drinks any day. I can get mimosas at home, it is the actual cruising I look forward to.

OMG, the huge list of perks go WAY beyond "a couple of free drinks"!! We added up our savings alone and it was about $800/pp, in addition to enjoying being treated like royalty. :D I love balconies as much as anyone (and have one on my next cruise), but this was an experience that I'm so glad we chose.
