Vancouver hotel pre-cruise and Anchorage hotel post cruise(sailing Sapphire Princess)

We are looking for a moderately priced hotel to stay at in Vancouver before our cruise and a moderately priced hotel to stay at in Anchorage after our cruise. Any suggestions? Also, our ship docks in Whittier so we have to get to Anchorage. Any suggestions on the best way to do that?

Virtually all Vancouver hotels are over $200 particularly over the cruise season. However, many people reported getting the Sutton Place and the Sheraton - Wall Centre on Hotwire this season for about $135 pn. You can also try bidding on Priceline, once on their bidding screen select Vancouver-Downtown, then 3*+, then begin bidding at about $90....for about $125 to $150 you should end up with a great hotel. Vancouver's downtown is very compact and almost all of its downtown hotels are less than a $10 cab fare to Canada Place.
