nhquilter1 Posted October 5, 2011 #1 Share Posted October 5, 2011 I know there are no quilt shops on the island, but are there any shops that sell beads? Not talking jewelry, but beads to make jewelry. Thanks in advance!
SailBadtheSinner Posted October 5, 2011 #2 Share Posted October 5, 2011 The Bermuda Yellow Pages has one listing under "beads": Elflin Bead Works, Top Of The Hill, 19 Ridgeway Rd., Pembroke, Bermuda, HM 07 Phone: 441-292-1460 There was no email address or internet site listed. Ridgeway Rd is located off bus route #4. SBtS

sousak78 Posted October 7, 2011 #4 Share Posted October 7, 2011 Betty's Needle Crafts in St Georges has beads, sometimes..... Quija, which is located in the Walker Arcade in Hamilton, is another place to consider trying. This is the shop a lot of the makers of Gombey capes tend to use so you may find some beads there as well. Please note that the jewelry makers on the island tend to import their beads themselves as the selection here is pretty poor. What you'll get here won't be any different from what you can get from somewhere like Fire Mountain, however, you'll pay a lot more for it! Hope this helps... NHtraveler603 Posted October 11, 2011 #5 Share Posted October 11, 2011 You might want to check the thread on Dockyard Sea Glass Beach, where my wife (an avid beader) picked up a jarful of green, purple, blue and white glass pieces for jewelry-making when we visited in September. It's an easy walk from the ships (or very short bus ride) and would be a unique way to remember your trip.
