South Beach v. Downtown

We have booked a room at the Winterhave hotel in South Beach for August 27th, the night before our cruise. I was wondering how much the taxi would run us to get from the hotel to the pier. Also, I would love to hear from someone who has stayed in South Beach prior to their cruise.

Taxi should be about $15.

 

We have a condo in South Beach. Great place,lots to do and see, or just relax on the beach.

The town is quirky,

the beach is great,

outdoor eateries are nice,

parking is a nightmare,

public transportation is available,

and everyone wants a tip. (even the Subway Sandwich Artist) :)

 

It's like no place I've ever been. You can see homeless sleeping on the same beach as Super models that are being photographed.

 

Lincoln Road Mall is nice, and I liked walking the boardwalk along the beach.
