Maui Golden Princess to Beach + Ocean Center + Shopping

We tender into Lahaina and are in port from 7am-6pm on May 3. Another ship is in port on the same day. We won't rent a car.

 

Is it reasonable to tender asap and accomplish going to the Kaanpali beach for a couple of hours, then go to the Ocean Center and spend a couple of hours there, ending with a bit of shopping in Lahaina? We'll fit in a quick lunch somewhere.

 

We don't mind taking buses if they are easy to do and run often enough.

 

If we take the bus to the beach, what's the best way to then go to the Ocean Center? Is there an efficient bus, or what's the cost of a taxi?

 

We won't have had time to do much shopping in the other ports so want to pick up a few souvenirs in Lahaina before tendering back (and I've read that the line can be long at the end of the day).
