Carnival Dream....Best spot to view....

....the ship sail in (I know I will have to get up really early:D)

 

Leaving on the Dream this Sat. 10/22, and was wondering if there is a good spot/access to see the ships sail in.

Jetty Park is a prime viewing spot altho there is a small charge to enter this park which does not open 'til 7, so you may not be able to get in

 

 

 

Directly west along the channel is Glen Cheek Drive where you find Grills, Fishlips and the other rest's. Immediately east of Grills is a public boat ramp area and just beyond that is a grassy area right along the channel - aka Freddie Patrick Park. At zero dark hundred there will probably be just a few hard core boaters there and there's no charge to grab a piece of grass.

Based on my experience returning from our cruise early on 10/1, the ship comes in sometime around 5:30 - 6 :00 am. Jetty Park is out so I would second the area mentioned above.

While Jetty Park does not 'open' until 7, it is also a camp ground and I doubt they lock people in so I'm guessing you COULD get in .... but I don't know that.
