jpdrew Posted April 11, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 11, 2004 We're currently booked in a starboard side mini-sute midship on Deck 11 for the Dawn's 2/10/05 sailing to the Carribean. The rest of our family is occupying 3 aft oceanview cabins (one handicap) on Deck 10. First of all, are the mini-suites worth the extra money? What extras (if any) do you get with them? We've also considered one of the Romance Suites (AD) on Deck 10. Has anyone stayed in them? What do you get from a Butler that you don't get from the stewardess or the concierge? I guess we're trying to figure out what the trade offs are for not staying in adjoining cabins with the rest of the family :-)
Kuppykat Posted April 11, 2004 #2 Share Posted April 11, 2004 The mini suite sleeps 4 and is a little larger than the standard cabin. Friends of ours stood in the mini suite and there were no perks. On the other hand The romance suite sleeps only 2. The romance suite is laid out much nicer and there is more room. You also have butler service which is wonderful. I'm sure the Romance suite is more expensive but it all depends on what you're looking for. I personally like more room and am willing to pay for it. beau4 Posted April 11, 2004 #3 Share Posted April 11, 2004 Stayed in a mini-suite last month - got robes and a fruit basket twice; other than that, no perks. The room was fine for two people but somewhat narrow - took some maneuvering around the closet area - only one person could get near it at one time. While we did enjoy the room, we're going for a full suite (AC) next time -prefer a larger space and definately a bigger balcony. Whatever you decide, you will enjoy the Dawn - it is a beautiful ship. susan
cruise182 Posted April 11, 2004 #4 Share Posted April 11, 2004 jpdrew Hello fellow sailor My family and I will be sailing with you Feb 10 . Please join us over on the roll call boards. To answer your question about the perks of the romance suites yes you get a butler to serve meals( from all menus) in your cabin. . Priority embarkation and debarkation which was a bonus for us as we were traveling with my frail grandmother. You get priority tendering. You also have access to the concierge. I also stayed in the Mini-suite which is nothing more then a dressed up regular balcony with a few extra square feet. The romance suites I believe are located off the rear of the ship.
