taxi to gold rock beach from freeport

Whats the best way to get to gold rock beach from freeport? we will be cruising there on the carnival fasination. can you depend on taxis round trip? or is renting a car best?

It's quite a good distance (maybe 45 mins to an hour, I think) from the port to Gold Rock beach and unless you hire a taxi for the duration of your visit, I don't think you would be able to locate return transportation. Gold Rock is not near enough to Freeport that taxis are in the area. Renting a car would be the best option, but I am not sure there is a rental facility at the pier. Getting to the airport to rent and return then getting back to the port seems like a lot of trouble. Ideally, we'd like to rent a car to go to Gold Rock for the day on our December cruise, but I don't think that will happen.
