removing a head

hi, need advice on removing the head from a Slik u-212. head load is 5 lbs.

 

want to put on a Manfrotto 808rc4 head that is good for 17 lbs.

 

with my Canon, gripper, & 100 to 400 lens the load is way over 5 lbs.

 

don't want to buy a new tripod.

Not sure on the Slik u-212 specifically, but on my old Slik and current Giottos tripod and ballhead, lock the panning clamp and twist the head counter-clockwise. Most heads are held on by a standard 1/4-20 threaded stud.
