blakey Posted October 29, 2011 #1 Share Posted October 29, 2011 hi, need advice on removing the head from a Slik u-212. head load is 5 lbs. want to put on a Manfrotto 808rc4 head that is good for 17 lbs. with my Canon, gripper, & 100 to 400 lens the load is way over 5 lbs. don't want to buy a new tripod. Thanks, Blakey Not sure on the Slik u-212 specifically, but on my old Slik and current Giottos tripod and ballhead, lock the panning clamp and twist the head counter-clockwise.
