What is the best way to get to Kennedy Space Center?

Recommended Posts

We have a large group and about 15 of us will be going to KSC.

We want to go on our own, instead of via the overpriced ship excursion.

Are there cabs and/or vans at the pier to take us to KSC?

Are there also plenty of them for when it's time to go back to the ship?

Any ideas on price?

Also, any comments about the regular KSC tour vs the expanded tour?

Thanks.

When will they put a ski trail on a cruise ship?

there are both cabs and vans at the pier. However you may be better to arrange for your own 15 person Van. look up Cabs and Vans inthe yellow pages for Port Canaveral and call them and talk with them(vans). They were charging 5-10 per person to take you there and you would have to make arraangements to bring you back. that is why if you preorder and work it out now you may be much better. Can someone who is going soon get a van number for this person to call?

I don't have a number but we used Art's Shuttle. I don't know if they have vans for 15 people but you could order 2 vans. We reserved ahead and they met us at the pier and they gave us a number to call when we were ready to be picked up. We rented a van that probably could have held 10 people and I think it was $50 per van round trip last October. Our driver was Wayne and he was really nice.

About KSC, we took the expanded tour. You get closer to the launch pads, but still not close at all. And you would drive around a few more buildings. We didn't think it was worth the extra money. And also, the Astronaut Hall of Fame is not on the same site as everything else, it's a few miles away and there is no way to get there except by your own transportation. We were very disappointed by this as that is where a lot of the more interactive stuff was. Our driver told us he would have come back for us, taken us there and then picked us up later but we didn't know that til the end of the day. But it would be worth it to ask. We were a little disappointed in KSC in general. One good thing you shouldn't miss, the 2 IMAX movies they have, they were great, especially the 3D one.

Have a good trip!

Thanks. I'll check into pre-arranging.
