Hello,

You should drive around a bit. Perhaps visit Annaberg Plantation or Cinnamon Bay Plantation. Depending on if you do that there is snorkeling to be had at Cinnamon Bay beach just accross the street from the ruins and there is very good snorkeling a short hiking trail away from Annaberg's parking lot at Waterlemon Cay (you would need your own gear as there are no amenities there). You can have lunch in Coral Bay or Cruz Bay or pick up something to go and eat on the beach. If you go the to go route: Simply Feast out towards Westin Resort has a great deli. You could beach hop and snorkel (bring your own gear) at a couple different beaches. If you want to go off the beaten path and do some hiking you could drive all the way out to Salt Pond Bay (bring food/drinks), short hike to the beach, swim, snorkel, enjoy, hike a trail from the beach (there are a couple there) and then swim some more - drive back. There are lots of ways to spend a day on St. John with a car; they all include driving around, beach time. So you just need to decide which beach and what parts of the island. If you want to cover all over the island driving around it will take a few hours. Have fun.
