What to wear?

What do most people wear on the boat for dinner? I have been told there are two formal nights on our cruise and I am bringing a suit, but what about the other 5 nights?? Shorts? Jeans? Khakis?

Hi- Depends on your cruiseline. From Celebrity : "On informal nights, gentlemen may wear a jacket and tie with slacks. Casual nights call for casual, so gentlemen may choose a sport shirt and slacks. I thhink shorts in the dining room for dinner might be a little too casual but have never cruised on Carnival.
