Quasar1011 Posted February 1, 2012 #1 Share Posted February 1, 2012 RCI has published a 3:30 boarding time for the Grandeur Of The Seas, leaving Colón, Panama at 6:30 p.m. We are staying on the other side of the isthmus, in Panama City, the night before; since Colón doesn't seem very safe. My question is, will RCI allow us to board the ship before 3:30 p.m.? I don't want to get stuck at the port for a few hours with luggage and nothing to do... DonnaK Posted February 1, 2012 #2 Share Posted February 1, 2012 unless there is a problem with the previous cruise (for example: it arrives late, there was an outbreak of norovirus that needs deep cleaning, it has an issue with customs, etc), RCI generally allows you to board as soon as the previous cruise clears, which is around 11:30am. Quasar1011 Posted February 1, 2012 Author #3 Share Posted February 1, 2012 Cool, if that is the case, I'll stop worrying about it. :) Thanks Donna.
griffy116 Posted February 1, 2012 #4 Share Posted February 1, 2012 Easily, you'll be able to board at lunchtime (barring anything outside a delay in ship's arrival, or a norovirus to clean up.both of which are rare). We've boarded cruises that don't depart until 8-9 at night and boarded around lunchtime. We've checked in, eaten, dropped our stuff in our cabin and then went off the ship and come back on before sailaway.
Quasar1011 Posted February 1, 2012 Author #5 Share Posted February 1, 2012 Thanks, griffy! That's the way it was with NCL; I just wanted to see if RCI was the same way, given this will be my first RCI cruise.
