klgreen803 Posted February 12, 2012 #1 Share Posted February 12, 2012 Is this worth the extra money? Am I correct in thinking that since we are sailing from Galveston to Cozumel and back to Galveston that the sun won't be directly in our faces but will be to one side or the other? serene56 Posted February 13, 2012 #2 Share Posted February 13, 2012 aft balconies are bigger then the side ones. aft balconies get no ocean breezes and tend to stay warm the view is amazing. the walk to the stairs/elevators is long but the halls are quiet as people tend not to go where they dont have to. the aft balconies get full sun- there is no shade back there during the day I used to love the aft balconies but since they changed the categories I can no longer afford them
klgreen803 Posted February 14, 2012 Author #3 Share Posted February 14, 2012 Thanks for your reply. I passed the info along to my SIL, who is my travel partner, and she is still determined that we get an aft balcony even if it will be sunny during the day. wantocruisemore Posted February 17, 2012 #4 Share Posted February 17, 2012 We had an aft extended on the Triumph, 8th deck, and loved it. It is definitely deeper and has an additional chair. The ones on the 8th deck that are on the ends are even wider. We did not have sun 100% if the time, but we got phenomenal sunrise/sunset views. And although it is a little bit of a walk to the elevators, the aft stairs up to the Lido are very close. We ended up using them alot. After that aft on the Triumph, my DH will not reserve unless he can get an aft balcony.
