Can anyone who has done the Mayan Jewels cruise recommend a tour in Costa Maya. The Uchben Kah Tour looked interesting, but was not able to find a website to find out what it is really all about. Beach club/snorkel is also an idea but not a beach club with someone on a bullhorn directing "activities" Peace and tranquility would be nice. Any suggestions?

Chacchoben Mayan ruins are interesting if they have that tour; but if relaxation is what you're looking for, grab a cab to Mahahual, the little village right on the beach near the port. It's only about a 5-10 minute ride. The town has one main walk right along the beach, plenty of interesting places to have a drink or bite to eat, and lots of street vendors set up with stuff to buy or look at. Runs the gamut from the usual junk to some interesting items. Then for real relaxation, get a massage right on the beach under a thatched cabana from any of the women along there. They do a good job and you can just lay there watching the surf. I've forgotten the price but it is the cheapest massage you're likely to ever find anywhere. Very romantic for couples too! Or you can just sit on the beach with your favorite libation and watch the surf roll in or enjoy the calm water. Mahahual is absolutely charming. Look through the boards here and at tripadvisor for other postings about it.
