Upgrading to GTY after final payment

I had originally booked an interior cabin and the prices dropped after final payment so today I upgraded to a balcony gaurantee. My question is has anyone else done this after final payment and when did you get your room assignment? I know I could not get it until we arrive at port just seeing what other experiences have been

We have had one assigned in two days, one assigned at the port and some in between. We have had some pretty good luck. Enjoy your balcony.
