Ok I know I can just use my BC for my cruise but was thinking about getting a passport. So here is my question if I get my passport and by chance I have to fly home for some reason and my daughter is with me and she only has her BC can she fly home with me since she is a minor??

No, all passengers including children and newborns, must have a passport to fly out of or back into the USA according to the couple of airlines I read on their sights.
