Hey MaryBeth.....I totally agree with you...it just seemed like the staff on Princess was having a good time....smiles all the time......just fun....what else can I say??? I also like the fact that the buffets on Princess were basically serve yourself. On the Summit I didn't like the fact that they got my food for me...maybe that sounds weird but I like to pick out my own food? Also, a couple times at dinner......keep in mind that we only spent two nights in the dining room and then chose to dine in the "casual restaurant"...anyway,I got up from the table to get something myself and got "stopped in my tracks" by the waiter or whom ever saying "madam......no no,we will get it for you".All I wanted to do was get my own darn garlic bread...I felt like a kid getting slapped on the hand for doing something wrong! The Normandie was absolutely fantastic, but even there I couldn't go to the bathroom by myself....they had to escort me! That's just a little "much" for me. Maybe some people like that sort of thing but it's not what makes a cruise for me!

I feel bad for having such a good time on the Summit when others did not. The Summit was my first Celebrity cruise. I have cruised Princess and I like both.

I got my picture taken with the captain in the martini bar, that makes up for all the things that really got me ticked off

I think my cruise was great because I had my first verbal fight over taking someone elses lounge chairs. I thought it was pretty entertaining but my friends weren't as amused as I was. Ooops!

The martinis were really good! :p It was really fun meeting before and after dinner.

The bar at the Edge of Insanity was pretty cool, I totally loved the decor. The experience...I sometimes just don't pay attention. I did get some cool pictures though.

The coronas by the pool were really nice, especially when I needed to cool off from all the fun we were having. :)

Had dinner twice in the Normandie, the last night we had dinner in the wine room. I loved the service, the food and the atmosphere. I thought they walked me to the bathroom to make sure I found it and got there safely. I don't feel so special now.:(

Hi Jo,

How are you doin'???

I agree, weren't those gatherings in the Martinin Bar great. I never did get a chance to try one of those Kettle -1 martinis, maybe next trip.

Just one question for you. Did you get the captain to wear our favorite set of glasses for his pix? :D

Really enjoyed meeting you and Dana. You two were really fun to be around.

JOIE, don't get me wrong. I had a wonderful cruise. Never had a bad one. Its just that I happen to favor another cruise line.

I did meet some wonderful people on this cruise. ANd some not so wonderful.

Oh well I enjoyed it enough to wish it was not over.

Mary Beth

PS I do wish Celebrity would send my garmet bag that it is holding hostage

No Bill I couldn't get the captain to wear the glasses; he said something about blackmail:confused:

I'm doing better now that I've gotten some sleep. I'll get the CD done within a week or so.

MaryBeth, I'm sure you enjoyed yourself. I just hoped everyone had a great time.

That's why they make Ford's and Chevy's, and have red and blue states. We sailed on Princess twice in a row, Sun and Dawn Princess. We throughly enjoyd both, then we went on the Galaxy. Sorry, but there was no comparison.....The Galaxy won hands down. It's been Celebrity ever since. We found the staff on Celebrity far superior to anything ever encountered on Princess. The entertainment on P was too predictable(newlywed game, etc), the bar prices were ctually no different, in fact who's counting pennies on a cruise.

The captain was never seen on Princess, there existed no social hostess etc. and the crew "was not" as friendly as X. Slightly differnent class of pax on both ships. We stick to X, despite that fact that we did run into people that we wouldn't like to see again, but overall the people on X were great. We remember many people from X, but on Princess, I can honestly say only one couple has stood out as a remeberence.

Everyone has differnet tastes in food and we would certainly rank 1. Celebrity 2. Princess, 3. RCCL. We would NEVER sail on RCCL again because the food and service was so bad, and that was a free trip.

Keep up the great work X, and those of you who prefer Princess ....stay there.

Ron

Geez Jo, Only 36 hours of sleep. I would of thought it would of been more since you didn't sleep for 11 days. Poor Dana her tail must still be dragging. Yes it was a great cruise and I know both Mary and myself enjoyed [and miss]everyone we met. The sooner we do it again the better. Rain and 45 on Sat,its great to be home. Rich

Hi Everyone,

Bob and I had a wonderful time also. I have to rate this cruise as our best ever.... So many positive things to say about the ship, food, and our course the wonderful people we met. There are always some things that we feel could have been improved, and one was the duo in the lounge... We thought they were terrible. Meeting friends in the Martini bar was much better anyway. We also wish they would play the steel drums at the pool, but we have never been on a Celebrity ship that did, so we were not expecting it... Other then those two little things, we would find it hard to complain about anything, and sit here tonight, wishing we were back on board.

Jo.... We would love your CD... you had some great pictures. We have a great one of you and Gus and Ian that we can send you

Rich... we have a wonderful picture of you in your Hat..... you and Mary look so nice...

Mary (Bob) if you would like one with you and the little monkey on the Oscar Brown tour, just let me know..

Miss you all, hope we can cruise together again sometime.

Bob and Jacque

I didnt think that much of the food on X however I did like all the dining options. As you said CRUISEFOREVER, there are Fords and Chevys and Red states and Blue states...I differ when it comes to those that like Princess over X...I would say everyone keep cruising and enjoy what each line has to offer. Keep trying them all and sample a little bit of everything...and give your thoughts on what you sampled. Doesnt make you right or wrong or McDonalds or 5 star..its just your experience to share.

Hey Duke052 give me a call I can' find your info:o

Hey Ron, Do you want the picture of you with the fuzzy glasses on?

I want to say one thing that I like better about Celebrity, I felt that the crew were much more professional. The last cruise that Dana and I took on Princess we were hounded by the male crew. It was absolutely horrible. Just because we cruised without the husbands doesn't mean we were looking for "something" while we were gone. On Celebrity I felt very comfortable and not once did I have to turn and run in another direction.

Hello to everyone from the 04/11/05 Summit cruise.

It is nice to see so many familiar people posting together again. After monitoring the thread for our cruise for almost a year, I have truely missed the usual banter from our group this past week. Gina and I had a wonderful time and enjoyed a number of great experiences, but as has been the case on our previous cruises, it is the people that we had the opportunity to meet that really made this cruise special. Thank you to all that shared this cruise experience with us and we look forward to seeing those familiar post names on the boards.

The only regret was missing Jo's pool side confrontation, after all, a little bout by the pool would have added a little energy that seemed to be missing from the band.

George & Gina.
