Nassay and Freeport

What is the difference? Are these 2 ports close to each other?

Nassau is the capital of the bahamas and is on New Providence Island. It's the gov't center and most populated.

Freeport is on Grand Bahama Island about 100 miles north of Nassau. It's a much larger, more rural island.

Both have great beaches, dining, snorkeling, diving, dolphins and other fun options. Nassau has more history.. govt buildings, parliament, forts, and towers etd.
