"Out to Sea" on round trip from Seattle?

My wife and I are heading to Alaska on the Spirit in July. We are doing the round trip out of Seattle and we were wondering if there is really any "out to sea" moments on the cruise? We realize it's an inside passage route, but it might be kind of cool to be on the ship and not see land for a bit. Just curious, isn't going to make or break our trip or anything.

Thanks!

One way will be outside, so you will be away from land.
