Galveston Hotels

Can anyone recommend a good hotel in Galveston that includes transfers to the pier? We would also need to leave two cars at the hotel and get a return transfer. Any help is appreciated.

You can go to galveston.com and research info.

Here are my recommendations:

Within walking distance of the pier (they allow you to leave your car for a small fee) is the Harbor House or the Tremont.

On the seawall w/transfers is San Luis Hotel, Hilton, Holiday Inn by the San Luis or The Galvez.

Hope this helps.

DH and I stayed at the Harbor House last year and will again this year. It is connected to The Treemont (walking distance, great roof top terrace) and The Galvez. The Treemont and Galvez are of a different legue than HH meaning they have 5 stars and HH has only 3. We like HH because we get there early enough to the day before to get a corner room. We love to see the ship sailing out the night before our cruise and then get up early enough to watch our ship come in from our window. The dolphins put on a private show for us too. The Galvez has a shuttle that will pick you up in the morning if you call them. The parking at the HH is $20 the night you stay there, but during your cruise, it only cost us $10 for the whole week!!!! It is in an enclosed, fenced area and has cameras set up. The HH is has a nautical theme and is very casual, but we love the location to the Strand area and shopping, and restaraunts.

there are other places that will shuttle you, we just prefer HH it really gets us in the mood for our cruise!!!!

The Holiday Inn West is much cheaper and much nicer than the other Holiday inn, Newer too, but is farther from the pier if you arent going to have a car. The Best Western down by Ferry Rd is pretty nice too, older, but clean with a friendly staff and closer to the pier. The Galvez is nice, but expensive if youre just looking for a stop before you leave. Harbor house has got nothing but rave reviews from most, but since its a smaller hotel, its usually booked on pre-cruise days.

I stay at the La Quinta and use Lighthouse parking. Light house parking will pick up you and your luggage and their web page has pre pay. I use Light house all the time great service. The La Quinta Inn and Suites has transfer and parking and is on the sea wall
