Best way to get to Charlotte Amallie

Cruise Pier to downtown is about $3 pp as I recall. The rate is set by the government so there's no negotiation. It is too far to walk but cabs are plentiful. St. Thomas cabs are like big pickup trucks with the beds configured with seats for about 15 passengers.

They will drop you off at the end of the shopping district. St. Thomas is beautiful. You'll have a great time.

It depends on where your ship is docked. If your at Havensite and your in fairly good shape you can walk it in about 30 to 40 minutes. If you are at Crown Bay it is a farther walk, about an hour. But for three dollars cab fare why waste valuable time?

Are these cabs "handicapped" friendly?

We will be traveling with my 78 year old dad who cannot walk for long periods of time nor can he keep up with us while sightseeing. We will be bringing his wheelchair with us on board.

Can we rely on just hiring a cab or should we make other arrangements to get him into town?
