chelspie Posted April 26, 2012 #1 Share Posted April 26, 2012 We are second time cruisers going on the 5/6 Conquest out of NOLA to Key West and the Bahamas. We cruised for the first time on Spring Break of this year with our teens and had a blast, so we booked this for just the two of us. Do any of you seasoned cruisers have suggestions for what we should not miss/take advantage of since we're traveling as just a couple this time? I'm really looking forward to it and trying to think of anything I skipped last time because we were traveling en masse. (ETA: My first cruise review was of the Elation on the 3/19-3/24 five-trip.) rockbock Posted April 26, 2012 #2 Share Posted April 26, 2012 We did our first cruise last October with three teenagers. Last month, DH and I went alone. The only thing we really did different the second time is to be more laid back. We didn't rush to be up and out of the room at 6:30am. We got up leisurely at about 8am or so (late for us). We didn't race to every event on the Fun Times. We didn't plan excursions in the Bahamas like we did with the kids in the Western Caribbean. We decided what to do after we got off of the boat. Throughout the cruise, we pretty much just did whatever felt right at the moment. Both cruises were great, but the first one was more "exciting" and the second one was a lot more laid back and relaxing. Both very good in their own way. We were just like you. Our first cruise was a family one, and my hubby and I just returned from just the 2 of us cruise #2. It will be a different experience this time. Not to sure what your ship has to offer but we went to things like the Theatre shows, comedy club, serenity deck, marriage and gender showdown shows were funny, the casino. Have a great time.
