Emdee Posted May 1, 2005 #26 Share Posted May 1, 2005 Last year we were on the Serenade for our anniversary and our 20 year old daughter decorated the entire cabin when we were having before dinner cocktails. She arranged for the captain to sign a picture of the ship with an happy anniversary message and Maritza the super concierge on this ship gave us a picture frame as an anniversary gift. The hotel manager on the Brilliance also gave us chocolate strawberries every couple of days on the transatlantic last year.
LuvMyVette Posted May 1, 2005 #27 Share Posted May 1, 2005 Hi: I was on Grandeur last year for my birthday and they no longer do the traditional cake (yellow cake with white icing/coconut) for the table. Instead they will give you whatever dessert you order, place one candle in it and sing to you. If you would like a cake, you'll have to purchase it (not sure of the price). Definitely talk to your head waiter ASAP about your wife's birthday (if you want something done after dinner at the table). Even though your TA will ask about a celebration, it's best to inform your head waiter. On our anniversary cruise in 2003, our anniversary was completely forgotten. Ended up having a cake the last night since they forgot about it since my DH mentioned something about it. You can have something delivered to your cabin (champagne, flowers, etc.) but you'll have to speak to your TA about it. Good luck and have a fun cruise. You must be terrific parents to have raised such a thoughtful and caring daughter! She sounds like a treasure. beachchick
