Skagway City Tour Recommendations

We have time between when the ship arrives at 7am to noon. We will need to have lunch and make it to the train depot for the 12:30pm train.

Any recs on what to do? Should we just stay in the town and sightsee and have lunch before we get on the train?

Any good lunch recs, or should we return to the shop for a quick bite?

I heard great things about Reid falls and the cemetary. Can we do that in 2 hours just to take pics and using the city bus? We aren't hikers, but just want pics.

Recommendations are appreciated!!

PS. How far is teh dock for the Sapphire to the train depot?

The walk to the cemetery is pretty far. We were told a mile outside of town so we didn't go. We were on island and docked at the railway dock. If you booked excursion directly through princess you got on next to the ship. If you booked privately you had to walk to depot. Took us about ten minutes to get there.

We walked around the town some. There is a nice little national park service museum on the Klondike gold rush with langer red tours around the town. That might be a nice way to spend the morning.

There isn't much to the Ried's Falls, OK to fill time, but not a "destination" for me. :)

As already mentioned, you may want to consider the National Park visitor center. It is loaded with history, has exhibits, free walking tour- you do have to sign up, and an interesting movie. All of this would enhance your later train trip. Located in the depot on Broadway and Second. Across the street is the Red Onion- which has an "interesting" brothel tour upstairs. :)
