luxury-lizard Posted June 30, 2012 #1 Share Posted June 30, 2012 I have tried the search function but it had not really answered my questions. Seabourn has some great deals at the moment around Nov/Dec. We are looking at the 18-day Dubai to Singapore cruise on the Pride on Dec 5 - chosen as the date suits us. We have only sailed on the Quest (2 weeks in the Med last year). We are wondering if it is worth $1000 more per person to go from the A2 to B3 cabin (B2 is no longer available). Also, we are interested in a cabin which is specified as "shower only" as we really prefer a separate shower and not the shower over the batch combination - has anyone stayed in such a configuration - is there any downside? Our Med cruise on the Quest had no sea days - this one has a number of sea days - what sort of activities are offered on sea days? Any other comments on this itinerary or the Pride would be most welcome. Thanks in advance.
surfersgirl Posted June 30, 2012 #2 Share Posted June 30, 2012 Hi,we booked that cruise earlier this week it will be the 3rd time that we have done it!. we always take a balcony because we enjoy the fresh air and the sound of the waves. we have stayed in that cabin configuration and the shower is enormous (bath size space). Sea days we play trivia, golf and socialise. there will be lectures, cooking demos and tour talks etc. we have family commitments otherwise we would stay on for christmas too. luxury-lizard Posted June 30, 2012 Author #3 Share Posted June 30, 2012 surfergirl, many thanks for the quick reply. perhaps we will see you on-board. Our final decision is pending - but we have put a cabin on hold.
Seabourntraveller Posted June 30, 2012 #4 Share Posted June 30, 2012 I did this cruise last year on the Legend in a CAT A3 (upgrade from CAT A elcheapo) and would never spend the money on a "Romeo and Juliette" balcony on the little sisters....waste of $$$$$ IMHO.;)

I always book this cabin because a) I am not a tub person b) I cannot step into the tub because of mobility issues. There is lots of room, but no separate tub in these bathrooms on the 'little sisters' unlike the bigger ships. Access to the outside on the little sisters is about 3 steps away, but with a cruise of your length, if you like the open 'balcony' aka window, go for it. But as you probably know, it's not for sitting or walking or drying your bathing suit. Don't forget the jacuzzi which is forward on Deck 5. luxury-lizard Posted June 30, 2012 Author #7 Share Posted June 30, 2012 Thanks again for the helpful advice - if we go (must make the deposit on Monday) we'll definitely go for the shower only cabin.

We might like one of these also, but I have to be sort of mid-ship...don't like rockin' and rollin'!!
luxury-lizard Posted July 1, 2012 Author #10 Share Posted July 1, 2012 We have 225 on hold - it's mid-ship (or so it seems from deck layout) on deck 5. I guess from the comment about "extra bathmats" that the shower area has a curtain and not a glass enclosure/door.
JaneBP Posted July 1, 2012 #11 Share Posted July 1, 2012 >"I guess from the comment about "extra bathmats" that the shower area has a curtain and not a glass enclosure/door." Yes, a glass door could be awkward in a handicapped bathroom.
luxury-lizard Posted July 1, 2012 Author #12 Share Posted July 1, 2012 janeBP, on the deck plan this cabin shows as shower only, not handicapped and shower only as do some of the other cabins. Hence my comment regarding curtain vs shower screen/door.

JaneBP Posted October 22, 2012 #17 Share Posted October 22, 2012 Yes, there is a shower curtain, not a glass enclosure. That's for the Big Sisters. However, I always ask for extra bathmats, don't want to slip on the floor, glass or curtain not withstanding.
