Rccl does good

Recommended Posts

Once a couple and myself were scheduled on a aa flight out of salt lake city to San Juan. I knew we would not take off in time because of the dense fog outside. I went up to my gate checking counter and said to the agent that in need to get to San Juan because of a cruise. She put the 3 of us on a delta flight to st Louis where we would pick up a twa flight to San Juan.

This delta flight would take off before my aa flight.

Meanwhile we were talking to rccl this whole time and they said if we made that

Delta flight and twa flight ---that they would hold the ship..

When we got to st Louis and walked by the gate-- no agent was at the gate yet.

We went to the phones and called rccl again to tell them we were in st Louis. They said they would see us on the ship. We the went back to the gate and there was about 3 people ahead of us in line for the agent. When we got to the front the agent told us that aa put us on a overbooked tw flight. There were only 3 open seats but those 3 people that were ahead of us got the seats.

We the went to the main aa ticket counter at the st Louis airport. Yes we called rccl again. The main ticket counter agent ended up talking to rccl and the following is what happened for our cruise..

Aa flight to Nashville then aa flight to miami.

Overnight in hotel by airport---I had a dress on to go to dinner on board that night.

The next day our air France flight to martinique where we would spend overnight

At a hotel did not leave tell the afternoon. The 1st day the ship was at sea.

I called my friends that worked on the ship and she called me at the hotel.

She goes In her high pitched English voice " sue where are you.. Your luggage is here". Anyway I went to the store on got the basics.

When we landed in Martinique rccl had a gentlemen there waiting for us--thru customs we flew cause he knew the people. He took us to a English speaking hotel and said he would pick us up the next morning.

We had to pay for our hotel but when I got home aa ended up paying for my clothes I bought and the hotel.

The guy took us to the ship the next morning as it was pullin in. As soon as the ship stopped -- a officer came out and escorted us to the pursers desk where we go our sea pass card. I got to my cabin where my friend from minn. was waiting

Alongside my luggage.

Sorry for the long story but rccl will help and I thought they did well for us. By the way-- everyone on board knew about us.

To top it off --this was a new years cruise and we made it on board in time.

It was the majesty of the seas. Oh the hotel manager of the ship gave us a bottle of wine.

I now always go the night before the cruise.

How many years ago was this, TWA hasn't been around for over a decade?
