Will Carnival allow Baby Bullet to be brought aboard?

No need to bring an extension cord. There will be an outlet by the dressing table in any ship. That's the most practical place to use it.

 

This whole conversation reminds me of when when I brought my breast pump with me on vacation. My son wouldn't nurse due to a palette issue. So I would pump and feed. Well- one day in port I'm pumping with my electric pumper and the window washer comes up the side and sees me- I'm surprised the poor guy didn't lose his footing! The things we go through for our kids.

 

Yeah, I think the extension cord is to make sure the machine makes it to the bed... on the ships we've been us thus far, if I had one... I'm not certain it would have.. Our dressing table was far enough away from the bed that if the cord for the machine were short, it might not be long enough. Better safe than sorry, I suppose. THANKFULLY, no one in my family has needed one of those machines, so I can't say with any certainty, since I never paid THAT much attention :-)

 

As for the breast pump... that's hilarious. I can totally relate. I hope you at least smiled and took a picture of his expression for your memories. lol

I wanted to tell you that my son used to have choking issues from the time he was born. He always choked drinking water but not with other heavier liquids. He wouldn't nurse but would take a bottle. It was weird. I took him to specialists and they looked at me like I was crazy.

 

When he was two my older son and I had a dentist appointment. I thought it would be cute for my younger son to sit in the dentist chair and just have a fun little dentist experience before the real thing down the road.

 

To my surprise the dentist told me he had real problems with his palette and that it would have to be stretched. So we took care of that when he was 8 (I waited as long as possible because it sounded painful- it was).

 

So if your child is having these issues with food and/or breathing, I'd keep looking for answers. He may also have allergies if he has breathing problems. It's worth looking into both for peace of mind and your child's comfort and well-being.

 

P.S: Nurses know more than the doctors in most cases because they really listen.

Thanks. We believe his breathing issues are related to his size (he is off the charts height & weight-wise). He had bronchiolitis when he was younger, but thankfully avoided RSV despite it going around like crazy near us... I don't think the issue is with his palette, as it is mostly a gag reflex brought on by not being able to breathe very well when he's having episodes, but you never know. We will definitely have it looked at as a possibility if it continues. Thanks, again! :-)

Just as an FYI; I heard back from Carnival's Special Needs Dept. This is what they said:

 

We thank you for your information and validate your needs. However, we are not able to make any exception on household items, as this is a fleet wide regulation from port authorities for security purpose. However, we are able to request assistance for your son's needs, to have our staff in the dining room pureed the food items you select once in the dining room. Please see your dining attendant and advise so they may assist further with food preparations. We have noted the booking for your convenience.
