We have cruised with Princess before but never on a ship based out of Australia.We are booked on Sun Princess later this year from Brisbane. I understand that the onboard currency is AUD. Husband is anxious to know if beer selection is the same on all Princess ships or do they have Aussie beer ? More specifically Crownies ? If so at what cost........Is gratuity built in to our cruise fare or is it added daily to our shipboard account ?

Hi Snoozecruise. There are no longer any gratuities paid on Sun, Dawn or Sea Princess out of Australia. It's up to you if you wish to tip anyone, but they do like you to fill in "You Made a Difference" cards for any of the crew you think have made your holiday a better experience. :)

 

I think they have Crown Lager as well as some Aus beers - someone else will be able to let you know about this as I am not a beer drinker.

Hi,

 

We just disembarked from the Dawn Princess yesterday, which is a sister ship to the Sun Princess cruising our of Oz.

 

Currency on board Sun Princess is in Ozzie dollars, there is no daily gratuity anymore on Oz based ships.

 

Beer selection and prices as follows:

 

Becks, Fosters Light Ice, VB, Tooheys New, were all $4.90

 

Fat Yak, Crownies, Bass Ale were all $6.60

 

Guiness, Grolsch were all $7.60
