Electric sockets?

Hi all,

 

I'm travelling on the Sun this weekend and wondered if I will be able to use my UK plugs on the ship or do I need some sort of adaptor?

 

Any ideas would be gratefully received :)

I know there are two types of sockets one of which is the US standard but unfortunately I don't know the difference between a UK socket and a European one. Unless I am mistaken, the only sockets are located on the desk and I believe there is only one of each.

On every NCL ship we've been on there are TWO outlets at the desk. One is US standard and voltage. The other is for 220v but usually lacks the adapter. In this picture, the outlet on the LEFT is the 220v and just happened to have an adapter in it. I suspect the room steward can get you the adapter if its missing....

Found this thread with a picture of what the 220v outlet looks like without the adapter. Not sure how readily available these adapters are. I did see a name for these but was unable to find it.

We travel with an adapter when cruising. It gives us an additional outlet. Sometimes a coffee maker is plugged into the European outlet which we ask to have removed.
