Electric sockets?

I know there are two types of sockets one of which is the US standard but unfortunately I don't know the difference between a UK socket and a European one. Unless I am mistaken, the only sockets are located on the desk and I believe there is only one of each.

On every NCL ship we've been on there are TWO outlets at the desk. One is US standard and voltage. The other is for 220v but usually lacks the adapter. In this picture, the outlet on the LEFT is the 220v and just happened to have an adapter in it. I suspect the room steward can get you the adapter if its missing....
