bridke Posted August 12, 2012 #1 Share Posted August 12, 2012 I am using this as a precruise hotel. I used the link through BiddingForTravel.com I started bid off at $85 Resort only San Juan. They wanted me to add at least $17 to bid. Declined to increase bid by $17. I then added Aguadilla and increased bid to $90. I then won San Juan Marriott Resort and Stellaris Casino. I actually bidded on 8/11/12 I checked the Marriott website and it had "Please Note – Mandatory 16 percent resort fee includes bottle of water in room, casino coupon, local phone calls and wireless Internet." So I guess my resort fee will be $25.44 My total from PriceLine is $108.16 (USD). So my grand total with resort fee will be $133.60. So I think I saved 35% if my math is correct. The lowest price on Marriott's website "Leisure rate, includes 20 percent off Regular Rate, a resort fee applies" $159 City View Main Tower. Total total would be $204.73. I think that final number includes the resort fee, but I'm not positive.
leighuf Posted August 22, 2012 #2 Share Posted August 22, 2012 That's a great deal! I'm looking at this hotel for our SJ trip next year.
Vacation Nut Posted August 27, 2012 #3 Share Posted August 27, 2012 We stayed here. It is a nice enough hotel - lobby is used for bands and dances. Beach OK. Nothing in the local area to walk to, just houses and a few shops. There is nothing wrong with the hotel, but I am looking for something else for our next cruise. It is not like staying in OSJ but there is plenty of stuff in the area. Beach is beautiful. Walgreens and grocery store near by. Plenty of restaurants to choose from. Higher end shops toward La Concha and lots of local flair. We love the Marriott Stellaris and the Condado area. Feel very safe here at night. Staying here again in January 2013. Very much looking forward to it! That is a great price. -Kristi
