Have Things Changed?

It's been a few years since we've sailed with SS and DH is wondering about formalwear. Sorry, I know everyone tires of this subject; however, he would simply like to know which is worn more often - the dark suit or the tux? We'll be sailing on Shadow to Japan and China if destination makes a difference. We appreciate any input.

On our very recent European cruises, most men wore tuxes. We've found the Caribbean is decidedly less formal on formal nights. And judging from many posts here, the choice varies from cruise to cruise these days, so it's hard to predict what you'll encounter. If your husband is leaning in one direction, I'd recommend that he just go with with that choice. Since Silversea's description for formal nights encompasses both tux and dark suit, he'll feel entirely comfortable either way and won't have to worry about feeling out of place.
