Taxi to Altos de Chavon

We will be arriving in La Romana October 9th on Carnival Freedom. We want to take a taxi to Altos de Chavon. Does anyone know how much a taxi is from the port, there will be four in our party? Also, will it be difficult to find a taxi for the return trip?

Unless things have changed in the last month, there is a booth at the port selling tickets for a bus ride to Altos de Chavon (US$7 per person round trip).

 

If you do opt for a taxi for 4 people it should be in the region of $US10 per head round trip. The taxi will wait for you for your return journey.

Was there an entrance fee to get into Altos de Chavon? I keep reading about various fees ($5.00 and $25.00) but all of these posts are a few years old.
