digitalabyrinth Posted April 8, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 8, 2004 I am going to be cruising in May and will be going to some of the ruins in Mexico. I have read that you need a tripod permit in Mexico. Anyone have any experience with this? Also did anyone have to pay to use their cameras? Thanks Sharon

Anyone using a tripod in Mexico is considered to be a professional and may gain commercially from the pictures. The permit is available from the INBA (The government department that handles archaeological digs). They have offices at a few of the ruins, but is is best to just contact your Mexican Consulate for current information before you go. And yes, most ruins that are run by the INBA charge a small fee for the use of a camera, usually about US$3-4. Have a nice trip!
