BREEZE 12/2/12 Meet and greet, how do they work?

We have never been to a meet and great even though we have went on several cruises. How do you know when they are, and how do they work ? Why do people go? Does Carnival encourage then or get envoled in any way?

Look for your roll call here on Cruise Critic. Someone there may have begun arranging one. Some M&Gs are just people meeting at a prearranged time at a prearranged place, with Carnival having nothing to do with gathering. Alternately you can have Carnival host the event for a price. Anywhere from an hour open bar to a fully catered event. For a Carnival hosted event, the minimum number of people is 20.

Why go to a meet and greet?

To meet other people on your cruise from cruise critic.

 

Carnival provides the meeting space and wait staff if you are doing drinks.

It's fun to meet people, and have people you recognize during the cruise. You might have an active roll call, and you might not. No predicting. I like the Meet & Greets that are by a pool. You can pop by for a bit, and leaveearly if you choose.
