sailor_jimc Posted November 27, 2012 #1 Share Posted November 27, 2012 Noticed something new on last week's Carnival Freedom cruise. In the past they didn't bother tracking your table game play unless you were gambling a LOT of money. On the Freedom, every buy in at a table they asked for my sign and sail card and recorded it on a clip board marked "Carnival Players Club". SO either the casino on the Freedom has gotten religion at tracking you or this is something new for Carnival. Anyone else on a recent cruise or going on a cruise in the new future to verify this? ByByeAmericanPie Posted November 28, 2012 #2 Share Posted November 28, 2012 I noticed this on the Pride in Feb and again on the Liberty in Sept. They tracked me every time I played tables regardless of my level of play.
sailor_jimc Posted November 28, 2012 Author #3 Share Posted November 28, 2012 Hmmmm, I wonder why its only on some ships. I was on the Spirit in July and they were tracking my play but only because I asked them to do so. I was on the Triumph in April and they all but laughed at the idea of tracking me unless I was playing their minimum "$25 a hand for 3+ hours" . I hope it spreads to more ships as this seems fair to me. I don't play slots but I do drop a lot of money at the tables.
vettecruiser1 Posted November 29, 2012 #4 Share Posted November 29, 2012 Magic last week, every buy in was noted regardless of play. Also every chip exchanged was noted. They said it was for rating purposes. I hope to get casino rate on my next cruise, because I know they wrote my name down more then 25 times. I went on a Carnival cruise in 2010, played a lot of craps and BJ, not generally a huge better. Soon after I arrived home I began receiving mailers from The Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas with promotions offered in conjunction with Carnival Cruises, Carinival/Grazie Club. This included free rooms, upgrades, etc. I took them up on the offer of free rooms at The Venetian and continue to receive promotions.
krzi Posted December 18, 2012 #6 Share Posted December 18, 2012 When I was playing on Princess, they recorded my play everytime. I just have a habit as well of giving the floor person my card as well because I used to work in the casinos as a dealer. The last trip on princess gave me a $100 on board casino credit for my Jan Carnival trip.
