Kids 15 and under need birth certificate...with a certification seal ...no copies allowed.

Kids 16 and over must have a photo id also....

18 and over need governmental issued id and birth certificate with certification seal no copies... on a closed loop like yours...(meaning starts in US and returns to US).....A notarized birth certificate is not acceptable must have the seal from the issuing authority...

When we flew to the Bahamas the Bahaminia officals wanted picture id for all kids....

Cell phone and the broadband packages for computers/ipads incur internatioanl roaming charges even if the phone is not in use....so text may cost 50cent but the roaming to get them still have to pay for that...I have a friend who used his laptops mobile broadband to the tune of $2600.00 in charges for about 10 mins worth of contact.....you can contact your cell phone carrier and if your phone has the correct configuration they can put you on an international option for a month....BUT if you can get a per minute price using the ships phone for $2.50 or less per minute that is the best option other than a calling card at a landbased pay phone..

For emergancy issue to reach you: One way is for whomever to call the ship through Carnival. Have the ship's name and passenger's name in hand and call (877) 225-7447 from the United States Carnival will take care of making the connection so you don't have to worry about maritime codes.

Locking your phone in the off position and putting in the safe is the best bet....iphones are known to start downloading due to glitch or user error when you least expect it and a $$$$$ surprise when you get home dampens your vacation experience...

If you have kids, take their cell phone before getting on the ship and lock them in your safe...oh it was just one to two hundred "free" text to a friend cause I was bored will really add up.....

For our guest's convenience, the ship's telecommunications network offers direct dialing via satellite from the staterooms telephone. This is available 24 hours a day regardless of the ship's location. This service is closed on the final day of the cruise at 4:00AM. The rate is $1.99 USD per minute, and charges are billed to the guest's on board Sail and Sign Card. Since all communication is via satellite, the charges apply to all calls including calling cards, credit cards, 800 toll-free numbers and collect calls.

Carnival lowered rates to match cell phone rates. The above is from the carnival site! $1.99 a minute.
