Simplertimes Posted January 17, 2013 #1 Share Posted January 17, 2013 OK, just want to make sure on this. One person has a room booked and the cruise is paid in full. Paid the double occupancy (Early Saver). If another person is added (providing the ship isn't at full capacity), all the 2nd person will be paying is the extra taxes/port charges for 2, correct? Someone (who claims to know everything) said that the original booking would have to be cancelled and that the 2 would have to re-book at the current price. I started off with a single and later added someone. She had to pay the taxes and fees, plus any difference in the rates from when I first booked. If the rates have gone up your cabin mate will have to pay the difference. It may have changed but this is what I did a couple of years ago. Colorado Kat Posted January 17, 2013 #3 Share Posted January 17, 2013 I did this last year, and my friend just had to pay the extra taxes & fees.
ccruisequeen Posted January 17, 2013 #4 Share Posted January 17, 2013 Wouldn't the Single Supplement cover the second person anyway? In that case, your new roomie would just pay taxes?
Legend Posted January 17, 2013 #5 Share Posted January 17, 2013 The second person will only be charged the current taxes. No need to cancel and rebook.
RuthlessBoss Posted January 18, 2013 #6 Share Posted January 18, 2013 I did this last year, and my friend just had to pay the extra taxes & fees. Same here. No change in rate, it had already been paid for.
gagirl789 Posted January 18, 2013 #7 Share Posted January 18, 2013 I just did this today! We had to pay the taxes and fees. It worked out great.
