Sailaway487 Posted January 25, 2013 #6 Share Posted January 25, 2013 Nice itinerary, similar to the one they're doing on Dream at the end of October. Is London Gatwick the only London airport available?
Rebel Rouser Posted January 26, 2013 Author #7 Share Posted January 26, 2013 Yes it's only from Gatwick, shame we would have done that if local airports.
jenny wren Posted January 26, 2013 #8 Share Posted January 26, 2013 I'm wondering if it's worth looking for other flights (Easyjet or Ryannair) from local airports....problem is it's out of summer season so fewer cheap flights to Majorca. Jengef booked her own flights I remember ??
Rebel Rouser Posted January 26, 2013 Author #9 Share Posted January 26, 2013 Ryan air from Stansted £258 but now can't sort out the IE as it wont let me look for Cruise only? on that date
jenny wren Posted January 26, 2013 #10 Share Posted January 26, 2013 There's no flights to Majorca from the southwest of England after end of October, so I've looked at flying to Gatwick from Newquay but we'd have to go the day before which bumps up the price to £322 just to fly to Gatwick and stay over to catch the early flight!! so getting a bit pricey doing it that way!! :(
Rebel Rouser Posted January 26, 2013 Author #11 Share Posted January 26, 2013 From Thomsons???? try booking it? Hi RR, I've checked our availability for the Magic of the Med cruise and we're offering the itinerary from airports all over the UK. Where are you looking to fly from? MallorcaChap Posted January 27, 2013 #12 Share Posted January 27, 2013 The option of flying independently is often quite a good deal, but don't forget that here in Mallorca we are now cut off from England from the 1st of November - you will be able to fly out, but no chance of a flight back unless you want to go back to Gatwick, Stansted, Bristol or Liverpool, maybe a few days after the cruise ends depending where you want to fly. sodafountain Posted January 27, 2013 #13 Share Posted January 27, 2013 Must have updated the website, see flights now added from Birmingham and Manchester.
Rebel Rouser Posted January 27, 2013 Author #14 Share Posted January 27, 2013 Still nothing from Stansted? Birmingham and Manchester just to far
sodafountain Posted January 27, 2013 #15 Share Posted January 27, 2013 Presume as the rest of Majorca is shut, so their standard flights aen't operating, they are probably just laying on a few special flights from the bigger city airports? Nothing in South West, so probably 1 plane from Gatwick, Birmingham, Manchester, and maybe Newcastle and Glasgow, as they'll presumably all be cruise passengers on the plane, that should fill the ship, 5 plane fulls? Rebel Rouser Posted January 27, 2013 Author #16 Share Posted January 27, 2013 Thomson have now confirmed through twitter only available from Gatwick? and do I fancy another cruise? No
sodafountain Posted January 27, 2013 #17 Share Posted January 27, 2013 Thomson have now confirmed through twitter only available from Gatwick? and do I fancy another cruise? No  Just proves that Thomson don't have a clue what they are talking about, and should just close down these accounts with incorrect information. Online, I could book from Gatwick, Birmingham and Manchester, I guessed at Newcastle and Glasgow, so just tried, and yes, you can also book from them also, so unsure why Thomson say it is Gatwick only. Not that any of those airports help you, but annoys me when they don't have a clue what they are talking about.
barnowl1950 Posted January 27, 2013 #18 Share Posted January 27, 2013 Also East Midlands which doesn't help either (just saying)
jenny wren Posted January 27, 2013 #19 Share Posted January 27, 2013 ...and they always forget about us here in the south west!!!! our nearest would be Birmingham ...a four hour drive away !:( Might be Easyjet flights from Bristol but there timetables don't go that far ahead yet. Shame they didn't think about the flight availability before they decided to offer such a good itinerary! Oh well!!:(
