Barbados on Horseback?

Hi Cruisers!

Has anyone done horseback riding on Barbados?

It seems there are two main providers: Highland Adventure Centre (through the cruise line) or Caribbean International Riding Centre.

"HAC" goes through a sugar plantation and promises great scenic views, but somehow sounds a bit dull.

"CIR" promises breathtaking scenery and a ride along the beach, which sounds much more exciting.

Please share any experiences with either of these stables!

Thanks!

Hi Mark,

Have been riding with both outfits, and enjoyed both. Highland's horses are perhaps kept slightly better, and their service is very good. They do not allow galloping, whereas CIRC will if you have previous riding experience. Thier rides are all downhill, in a very remote and beautiful part of the island, and the rides end up on a beach where (if experienced) you will be allowed to take a run. Highland is in the center of the island, CIRC is about 15 minutes further north.

Good Luck!

Irie Mon!
