Anyone ever get left behind in port?

Thanks for sharing...that should surely solidify the questions on if you may need a passport and if you should carry it with you abroad.

On a Hawaiian cruise we had rental cars for every port. Became friends with 2 of the nicest guys on the cruise that also had rental cars in ports. One port when we were leaving we heard their names called before departure. Oh no! We realized they had missed the ship! Found them in the next port on ship. Horrible accident on the way to drop off rental car. At airport rental car terminal agent booked them a flight to next island, suggested hotel and dining options. And all was well! But as Americans it was American ports! Don't know what it would be like in a foreign port!
