St. John beach wedding

We are planning a small wedding on St. John but we are having a tough time deciding WHERE on St. John to have it. Somewhere with a view of the water or a nice secluded spot on the beach.

Has anyone else been married or attended a wedding on St. John? Any recommendations?

saltydreams - many congratulations!! We married on Hawksnest Beach in 2003 while on a 7-night cruise from Miami. Hubby and I vacationed on St John four months prior to the wedding, with the main purpose of choosing our wedding beach. :) Great excuse for a vacation, huh? :D We chose Hawksnest because it wasn't one of the popular cruiseship destination beaches (like Trunk or Cinnamon), was close to Cruz Bay, and easy access from the parking lot (unlike Honeymoon Beach). With five ships in port, we were the only ones on the beach during the ceremony and a few others showed up later while we were still doing some pictures. Also, recently, the facilities at Hawksnest have been upgraded (they were being worked on when we were there this past November).

The links in my signature link to a review (here on CruiseCritic) as well as pics of our beach wedding. I think each link is different, so click on several things if you don't find what you are looking for. There are several pics of Hawksnest Beach (and of our wedding). Also, we returned to our wedding beach this past November on another cruise, and made sure to order another smaller wedding cake from the same chef. However, this time we took a dinghy to the beach so we could go beach-hopping for the day, making sure our very first stop was "our" beach.:)
